LM on behalf of HS2 – 24-hour temporary traffic lights on a short section of the A452 to be extended to 16 December 2020

Subject: Important – LM on behalf of HS2 – 24-hour temporary traffic lights on a short section of the A452 to be extended to 16 December 2020
Importance: High

Good afternoon neighbour,

During 2020, we are remodelling and expanding sections of the existing road network in the area, and constructing new routes on HS2 land, which will connect to four new highway bridges. These road improvements will ensure that when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, the local road network is fit for purpose.

This is an ongoing programme of works, which commenced in March 2020.

We previously notified you about the installation of 24-hour temporary traffic lights on a short section of the A452 from Monday 12 October for four weeks, and an accompanying single lane closure along this stretch of road, which would alternate between northbound and southbound.

These traffic measure will now be extended to Wednesday 16 December 2020.

You will still be able to travel along this section of the A452 and we will ensure clear signage is in place for drivers.

The map below outlines the location of the extended temporary traffic lights and accompanying single lane closure in orange.

Remembrance Parade 8th November 2020 Cancelled

Remembrance-page-001

It is with sincere regret that, in the interest of public safety due to Covid-19, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Remembrance Parade in Coleshill.  However, the day should not be forgotten and the Royal  British Legion are encouraging ‘Remembrance from Home’. They have many innovative ideas on their website of how to get involved with fundraising and acts of remembrance from home including downloadable poppies and teaching resources, please visit their website on www.britishlegion.org.uk

As always Coleshill High Street will be festooned with Poppies to signify our Town’s collective remembrance.  If you wish to take photos of your acts of remembrance from home and share them on social media use the hashtags #TwoMinuteSilence #coleshillremembers or @coleshillparish

The Parish Church will be having a short Remembrance Service with a reduced number in the congregation. Entrance to the Service is by pre-booked seat only, with priority for tickets given to current and ex-service men and women and to those who have a wreath to lay on behalf of a local society or organisation, via Zoe Hillcox at Coleshill Town Council on zoe@coleshilltowncouncil.gov.uk or 01675 463326. To discourage the gathering of people outside the church there will not, this year, be the traditional broadcast of the service on speakers outside, there will also not be a formal wreath laying ceremony, those wishing to lay a wreath who are not coming to the church service are encouraged to do so anytime during the Sunday. There will however be a live broadcast of the service on Facebook live on the @coleshillparish Facebook page

We hope that you are still able to participate in memory of the fallen in a Covid-safe way.  As the Royal British Legion website says “we encourage everyone make Remembrance their own – however you choose to remember”.

CCTV – Change of Location

The police, in collaboration with the North Warwickshire Borough Council and Coleshill Town Council are arranging for a Nomad HD camera to be moved to Coleshill High Street near to the vicinity of the Coach Hotel public house.
The camera was redeployed on Tuesday 6 October.  The Safer Neighbourhood Team will promote awareness of the deployment through their newsletter and other channels.   Please note this change which is part of the response to the incidents and concerns raised recently about the licensed pNOMAD_The_Upwards_V03-p-800remises and in the High Street in general.

LM on behalf of HS2 – Notice of weekend part-closure of the A452 (nb) and A446 (nb and sb) in October 2020

To ensure that the local road network is fit for purpose when the future HS2 Interchange Station is operational, we are expanding and improving the existing network and creating new routes on HS2 land.

These works will be concentrated on and around Northway Island, on the B4438 and Northway. To link the new network with existing routes, we’re building four connecting highways bridges. The first of these new bridges – a 65-metre structure spanning the width of the M42 – was successfully installed in August 2020.

To safely install the next bridge deck over the A446, we will close sections of the A452 Chester Road and A446 Stonebridge Road for one weekend.

Sections of the A452 Chester Road (northbound) and A446 Stonebridge Road (northbound and southbound) between Stonebridge Island and M6 Junction 4 will be closed to traffic after evening rush hour on Friday 23 October 2020, and reopen before morning rush hour on Monday 26 October 2020. If work progresses faster than expected, we will reopen the A452 and A446 earlier if possible.

During the temporary closure, diversions will be in place and clear signage will be displayed along the route for drivers. For full details of the road closures and diversion routes, please visit the Highways England website.

Please see attached notification for further details.
