Coleshill Town Council is delighted to announce that it is now accepting applications for the 2022/23 Grants Scheme (total allocation of the scheme of £10,000).

Grants will not be awarded to individuals.  Only voluntary organisations will be considered.

The group/organisation should be active within Coleshill and the surrounding villages.

The group/organisation should normally provide a benefit, service, support, entertainment or information.

Coleshill Town Council will provide grants both for projects and core funding.

Grants will usually range from £250 – £1500. The Town Council will only provide funding up to a maximum of £2,000

Closing date for all applications: Friday 26th August 2022 (noon)

 All electors of the Town of Coleshill are invited to attend at:-


 WEDNESDAY, 11 MAY 2022 AT 7.00pm

 Chaired by Councillor Caroline Symonds (Mayor of Coleshill)


The Town Meeting may, by law, discuss all town affairs and pass resolutions about them.  The following matters are on the agenda: –


  • To receive and adopt the minutes of the last Annual Town Meeting held on 12th May 2021.
  • Plans for the HS2 Work in the Coleshill area both in design and traffic management – Cameron Cashmore (BBV Ltd).
  • Warwickshire Fire Service’s On-call fire-fighters – Gosia Zielinska (Community Engagement).
  • “The work of the Town Council over the past year” – Town Council members.
  • The first year and plans of Two Rivers Women’s Institute Group – Alison Doyle (WI President).
  • Any other resolutions and proposals by electors.


Teas, coffees and biscuits will be served.

 COVID-19 Arrangements.  Please do not attend in the event of a positive test or of showing symptoms.

After a resignation, there is a vacancy for a Coleshill Town Councillor to represent Coleshill North.  The Town Council, having advertised the vacancy for the required number of days, is now able to co-opt to this position.  A candidate for a Parish or Town Council is qualified for normal election if –

  1. They are a British subject or Irish citizen,
  2. Is 18 years of age, and
  3. Is either in the list of electors for that Parish or Town or has during the whole of the preceding twelve months:
  • occupied land as owner or tenant in it, or
  • had a principal place of work there, or
  • resided in or within three miles of it.

Prospective councillors should have an active interest and concern for their local community.  They will represent local people and work in partnership with them and others when necessary.  They will help facilitate the provision of local services and facilities and make decisions that form the policy of the Council.

You should consider becoming a Town Councillor if:

  1. You want to do more for your community,
  2. You want to spend your time productively,
  3. You can think, listen and act locally.


Anyone interested in the vacancy should write or email to the Town Clerk (see contact details above) with a maximum of a 250-word personal statement.  The timetable is:

1p.m. Monday 21 March – deadline for submission of interest to the Town Clerk.

Evening of Wednesday 23 March – interviews by current Councillors (Town Hall).

Wednesday 30 March – formal co-option by the Full Council.

Yule Craft Fayre

Can I please let you know that there is another market opportunity in the Town Hall this Saturday; the Yule Craft Fayre, running from 9 am to 3 pm., hosted by Elysium Craft Fayres and Markets.

There is a £1 entry with a free glass of sherry on arrival.

This is a great opportunity to see the town for all your Christmas shopping needs as the town in general will be open for other things like food, drink, plants, hardware, etc.
